The Digital Operating Mechanism (DOM) has been specifically designed to operate COELME-EGIC equipment and to allow their digital communication of with other parts of the power utility automation system.
It is IEC 61850 and IEC 62271-3 compliant and includes a Remote Terminal Unit (RTU) able to communicate with different components of the operating mechanism by MODBUS or other protocols.
Among other information the RTU provides a real time comparison with the reference motor curve (settable during commissioning), to evaluate if maintenance is needed.
Upon request, other communication protocols (DNP3, IEC 60870-5, …) and fiber optic output (to replace “copper” connections) are available.
